Amara is a very friendly farm favorite who is best known for her love of shopping. You’ll often find her in our onsite farm store checking out the products and interacting with shoppers.
Pedigree
Amara is the offspring of our High Velocity and Psalm. Psalm is a 5x Champion and gorgeous rose grey male with incredibly fine fiber. High Velocity is a top fiber producer with long staple length and amazing volume.
Amara follows in her dam’s footsteps. She holds top 1% EPD ratings for staple length and top 25% ratings for fleece weight. She may still be small in size, but her fleece production is mighty.
Color Genotype: EE a1a1
Amara’s ASIP alleles show she has a black allele in both locations. Her MC1R alleles show she has no dilution. This genotype combination tells us she cannot produce light colored offspring. She will produce offspring that are dark fawn or darker, with a tendency for darker colors.
Personality
Amara is sweet, quirky, and full of personality. She also beats to her own drum. She has no problem competing in the 4-H, playing with visitors on tours, or sleeping outside in the rain all by herself.
