Pedigree
Onyx was born to WP Peruvian Lindamere and Fun in the Country’s Superman in June of 2019. Onyx comes from very strong genetics. Superman is a Color Champion with 25+ ribbons and banners. Her dam Lindamere is also a former showgirl.
Phenotype
She is a super sweet female with bright black fiber that is full of crimp and blessed with an amazing staple length. She ranks in the top 5% for EPDs in both staple length and fleece weight.
Color Genotype: EE aa
Onyx’s ASIP alleles show she has a black allele in both locations. Her MC1R alleles show she has no dilution. This genotype combination tells us she cannot produce light colored offspring. She will produce offspring that are dark fawn or darker, with a tendency for darker colors.
Breeding Activity
In 2021 Onyx was bred to Fun in the Country’s Liquid Silver, who is an amazing champion and herdsire. This pairing produced an exceptional male named Silver Monte. Monte appears to be a carbon copy of his sire.
In 2022 Onyx was bred to Snowmass Occult. This pairing should produce an amazing black cria for us in the fall of 2023.
