Heartthrob was born to MFI Mailee and Fun in the Country’s Liquid Silver in June of 2019. She is a unique alpaca inside and out!
Personality
She arrived at our farm in the winter of 2020 and quickly became a favorite for visitors. She is a cup of sugar and a cup of vinegar mixed together. She is named for her heart-shaped mark on top of her head, however, it is no match for the smart and sassy personality she carries.
When she arrived at our farm she was a cria. She liked to spend time with her fellow crias, but she also had no issue standing up and interacting with the adult female alpacas in our herd. As Heartthrob has matured she has mellowed into a calm and lovely adult.
Phenotype
Heartthrob has transformed in color and you’ll see this in her photo gallery below. She arrived as a beautiful rose grey, but when her cria coat came off, she changed into a silky dark silver grey. It was amazing to watch the transformation during sheering.
Color Genotype: EE a3a3
Heartthrob’s ASIP alleles show she has a black allele in both locations. Her MC1R alleles show she has no dilution. This genotype combination tells us she cannot produce light colored offspring. She will produce offspring that are dark fawn or darker, with a tendency for darker colors.
