Our farm is small, but mighty. Since the official formation of Cotton Creek Farms in 2017, we've jumped fully into the alpaca industry and community. Here is a little timeline of activities that highlight the progression of our farm and business.

Formed Cotton Creek Farms LLC

Back in 2019 we were not sure what we'd do with our new farm, so we decided to name the farm after the small creek that runs through our property.

Officially Moved North

It took about a year to convert our raw land into a home. Our first priorities we're our big red barn and our home, which allowed us to move in and start looking for farm animals.

Brought Our First Five Alpacas Home

With complete excitement we brought home Kalista, Ariana, Anastasia, Sienna, and Adel. We all fell immediately in love with these ladies.

Rebooted the Alpaca Association of Michigan

The prior alpaca association for Michigan had closed and we wanted to see if we could revitalize this group. With help from local farms, the affiliate was rebooted.

Open Our Onsite Store and Interactive Farm Tours

After receiving many requests for farm tours, we built a new barn to house our store and our female alpacas. This was the start our agritourism business and involvement with the local community.

Launched the Farm and Fleece 4-H Group

After taking the year of Covid off, the local 4-H fair was back on and we wanted to help get as many kids involved as possible. Jason formed a local 4-H group and we invited children from the surrounding area to participate.

Launched Our Made in USA Product Line

We wanted to help get fiber out of barns and into USA made products, we Jason started pooling fiber from local farms and we produced our first set of socks and blankets produced at the commercial level. This set the stage for additional products and expansion in the coming years.

Joined the Alpaca Owners Association Board of Directors

While Jason didn't plan on running for the national association board, he was asked to consider it and he did. Soon after he was elected to the board and now serves as the Treasurer.
