Faith is lovable, sweet, and cute as a button.
Shortly after starting our alpaca journey, the 4-H called and asked if we could rescue a few alpacas. We didn’t have an interest in growing the herd, but we also couldn’t say no when we met Faith and her sister Stormy.
It took months of working with Faith to gain enough trust that she would come into our barn (she hadn’t had a barn previously) and it took even longer for her to trust us enough to come close and eat from our hands. Slowly but surely Faith built trust in humans and learned we were safe, and more importantly, that she was loved.
Faith has produced two lovely babies for us, she’s provided lots of beautiful yarn, and she has made many visitors happy.
While she is a quiet alpaca, she is eager to jump into a tour and interact with visitors. She also is very eager to come and see her human momma when she arrives to the paddock to say hi. Over the years that we’ve had her, Faith has come to see our farm as home. She loves carrots and apples, knows to wait her turn for treats, and knows her favorite human will always make sure she gets those treats.
While we are not an alpaca rescue, we’re so glad we adopted Faith when she needed a home. Faith is on our “non-negotiable list” which means she will be staying on our farm until she passes.
