Sherry Ann is the daughter of Snowmass Dream Legend and Snowmass Majestic Paramount. Her genetics offer champion bloodlines which include Snowmass Quechua, Snowmass Cononpa XXX, Peruvian Hemingway, Snowmass Best Man, Snowmass Matrix, and Snowmass XXXTreme.
Phenotype
Sherry Ann is full of bright white fiber, that is extremely soft to the touch, and is matched with amazing crimp. Her high-frequency crimp has a strong amplitude that you can feel. She holds top 5% EPD ratings for curvature and fleece weight, with 15% and 25% for all other categories. We would expect nothing less from her pedigree and the strong EPD rankings of her parents.
Personality
Sherry Ann is intelligent, friendly, and her personality shines as bright as her fleece. She stands proud in a regal, show girl stance but this softens quickly as she would rather interact, talk, and give kisses.
Some fun facts about Sherry Ann:
- She is on human mom’s “nonnegotiable list” and this means she will be here strutting herself on our farm until she leaves earth.
- She is now the alpha female in our herd and believes she must watch over everyone. And she does all the time.
- She is very protective of human mom and will block other alpacas from being loved by said human. She is so sly about this, you don’t even notice her blocking off the offending alpaca.
- She is emotionally sensitive and was very upset when human mom had an accident this summer. When her favorite human was finally able to get out to the barn (after a few weeks), Sherry Ann ignored her and would not even make eye contact. This went on for a week. She finally accepted that human mom was back and she was her BFF once again.
- She has absolutely beautiful fiber, but we cannot breed her because of a medical issue. And that is okay. Sherry Ann has enough personality going on that we’re not sure if the world can take two of her.
- If someone is on our farm looking at alpacas, Sherry Ann will get upset if they don’t look at her closely. She is special and she knows it. She will push herself into the mix until the new human acknowledges her and praises her. Usually the visitors then want to buy her and we have to tell them she is not for sale. For real, because human mom would cry and morn her.
- She loves carrots and apples, struggles to wait her turn, but will accept that human mom does have a right to give everyone treats.
- Sherry Ann is named for our friend Sherry Walling because they share the same birthday. Human Sherry is smart, sassy, full of personality, holds a PHD, is a published author, she’s a wife and mother, she is a trapeze artist, and she is just cool beyond words. We didn’t realize they would have such similar personalities.
