Snowmass Occult is a three-time Color Champion herdsire that brings top 15% EPDs in fineness and curvature to our herd. He has exceptional phenotype and pedigree.
Pedigree
He is the offspring of Snowmass Enchanted and Snowmass Loves Grace. His pedigree also includes top Snowmass producers that include Snowmass Matrix, Snowmass Quechua, Snowmass Accoyocusani, Snowmass Nova, and Snowmass Conopa XXX.
Phenotype
Occult brings lots of goodness to our breeding program. He has strong conformation with a full face of fiber that is complemented by his small ears and nose. His fiber is dense and it offers top 15% EPD ratings for micron count and curvature. We’ve seen his phenotype pass to his offspring and dominate over the dam’s appearance. Occult’s crias have his strong conformation, his “showy” head, and he has leveled up the crimp structure for each dam he was bred to.
Color Genotype: Ee a3a1
Occult’s ASIP alleles show he has black alleles in both locations. His MC1R alleles show he has one dilution. This genotype combination tells us he can produce offspring in the full range of colors. We can see from his breeding records that Occult will produce lots of dark colored crias, and in particular classic grey offspring, when bred with the correct color genotype.
Personality
Occult is a nice blend of sweet and sassy. He’ll listen to commands and he is quick to snack from your hand. While breeding he patiently waits his turn, then once released he is an eager breeder who quickly courts the dam into mating.
