Cotton Creek Farms has an immediate job opening for a part-time retail sales associate to manage our alpaca farm store located in Thompsonville, Michigan.
Core Responsibilities
- Opens store and prepares for the day
- Greets customers upon entry
- Manages farm phone to provide directions, instructions for tours, etc.
- Provides instructions and options for feeding alpacas and purchasing tour tickets
- Directs customers to correct product offerings based on needs
- Supervises and redirects visiting children while in the store
- Provides education on product usage and cleaning
- Manages cash register and payment processing within Square POS
- Prepares and ships website orders within WooCommerce
- Closes store each day
Secondary Responsibilities
- Provides information on farm history, alpacas as an animal, and shares stories about individual alpacas
- Learns alpaca names and basic history
- Stocks incoming inventory
- Straightens existing inventory
- Performs stock audits when needed
- Clean store flooring, windows, doors, and fixtures as needed
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- 18 years or older
- High school diploma
- Previous retail experience
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfortable with software and computer programs
Work Hours
The farm is open to the public on both weekdays and weekends from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.
